Glassman Wealth is a full-service, fee-only fiduciary providing highly personalized investment advice, financial planning, and wealth management. With one of the lowest client-to-advisor ratios in the industry, Glassman Wealth’s team of engaged, innovative advisors has the time to focus on each client’s unique needs and goals and dreams. This personalized and sophisticated approach enables Glassman Wealth to serve each client as their dedicated financial steward, helping them not simply to achieve their financial goals, but to realize their dreams.
One of most common things you’ll hear within the walls of Glassman Wealth is the motto of “Show Them, Don’t Tell Them.” We truly believe that to stand out and have lasting impact – you need to show the value, versus just talking about it. This type of situation occurred just this morning – and I felt compelled to share our story.
Over the past few years, we have been nominated as one of the Best Places To Work in the Washington DC area. There are so many reasons why this is true – and, on this particular Monday morning, we proved yet again why this is a great place to work.
One of my colleagues, Courtney Oetjen, has a passion for wellness. Over the course of a few years, she realized that we needed to incorporate this type of benefit in a very intentional way within Glassman Wealth. Courtney took the steps to make this happen; she gathered information and learned as much as possible to determine what type of additional resources we may need to accomplish our wellness goal. As time passed and the team evolved, we began to realize that we needed to engage the services of The Wellness Connection.
Just this week, we had our kick-off for 2017 wellness initiatives with Susan McCormick and Jenn Wood of The Wellness Connection while enjoying a healthy breakfast to start the day off. Courtney, Jen, and Susan have dedicated their time to designing the year-long plan that the team at Glassman will have the ability to participate in – even with a few competitions and wellness challenges along the way. Our competitive nature has many of us eager to tackle these challenge, much as we tackle the various challenges that come along with serving our clients. And the long-term nature of this initiative ensures that it won’t just be some New Year’s style Resolution that fades out by the second month. We are in this for the long haul.
Each quarter we plan to focus on the following areas of wellness:
- Q1: Overall Well Being
- Q2: Balancing Life and Work
- Q3: Aligning the Body and Mind
- Q4: Healthy Eating
It is of the utmost importance to our team, and to our clients, that we are working at peak performance, and able to be fully engaged in our work. To be one of the Top Financial Advisors in the Washington DC area we need to ensure that we can always give 100% to serving our clients. It would be very easy to simply state that we have healthy snacks, access to gym memberships, among other things; this is yet another example of the motto “Show Them Don’t Tell Them” mindset that we have for ourselves.
The benefits of this type of initiative will not only help each of us become better versions of ourselves, but it will also directly correlate with our mission of enriching the lives of our clients. Sometimes we simply have to change focus or find additional resources to help us learn new things, while being accountable to ourselves and each other. I believe that we have found the perfect solution through The Wellness Connection. And, thank you Courtney, for your persistence and patience to find the right solution at the right time – to help our team, help our clients.
I look forward to sharing our progress along the way!
